Hello sweet friends.
Did you get that last memo I sent out where I told you all how special you are to my heart,
how I truly treasure getting to know you and having you in my life? Well it's true!
Thanks once again for who each of you are, and how you bless my world.
So today my word is JOY.
I'm learning that the amount of joy I have does not depend on how happy I am.
Joy and happiness are not interwoven.
You can have joy in spite of how you currently feel, or what is currently occurring.
That's kinda very cool!
But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, Galatians 5:22
So joy is a fruit of the spirit. It's a gift to us when we choose Jesus.
This type of joy from Jesus can sustain us during the times when life can feel sad, scary,
uncertain or just plain un-awesome.
We just need to fix our eyes and hearts on the one who can give us this gift.
This has been so key for me lately. It will get ya through any tough situation and sustain you.
It doesn't mean it's going to be fun or blissful, but it does change things.
So if you're havin' a rough one...look to Jesus and let him give ya some of his joy :)

yes my friend, running to Him will overwhelm us with joy that sometimes we ourselves won't understand. keep looking to Him hun, He will keep filling you up with unending joy. xo
You are so right. I often think our society forces us to believe they are one in the same when in reality, joy can exist even in the most unhappy times.
i love this post!! joy is a choice but in reality the joy that is found in jesus is so amazing that it is hard not to be joyful because of His wonderful love for us
so true. joy is not about my efforts to make myself feel better about a situation. joy is just Christ doing His work in me. Love it! I don't think I've made that connection, but I've totally turned joy into this legalistic I can do it reaction. But its a gift. ::clicks heels:: such a good word!!
